Barrel Cedar Sauna
Relax, Rejuvenate and Restore!
Whether you choose a vertical or a horizontal barrel sauna it will fit well into your outdoor space, adding beauty to your landscape. When the barrel sauna is used on a regular basis it has many health benefits.
Construction
All our saunas are made of only the finest quality, kiln dried, 100% heartwood Western Red Cedar. The floor and sides are 1 5/8" thick providing good insulation. The saunas are true barrels and are held together with corrosion proof stainless steel bands. Both our sauna styles use an all stainless steel sauna heater, made in Finland. The Harvia KIP80, 8kw heater heats the sauna up quickly. The heater has a built in thermostat and timer controls. The heater comes with sauna rocks and can be used either wet or dry. This is the type of heat that is enjoyed by the Finn Landers as opposed to the heat from the cheaper radiant style of heaters made in China.
Both sauna styles are very easy to put together with the minimum amount of tools.
Vertical Sauna
The Forest Lumber & Cooperage vertical sauna has a very small foot print and can fit into any yard. It is 7 1/2" in diameter with 7 1/2" high walls, which also makes it possible to use indoors without the roof package. The modular roof comes in eight triangles that go together very easy. The roof panels are pre shingled with cedar. One piece cedar moldings form the ridge caps that cover the joints. The peak is finished off with an attractive copper cap. Two inches of foam insulation is incorporated above the cedar tongue and groove ceiling. The two level benches are curved allowing up to 6 people to sit in a circle, creating a nice social atmosphere.
Horizontal Sauna
The Forest Lumber & Cooperage barrel sauna is 7ft in diameter with a 7ft long sauna room and a 3ft long porch. The porch with its out door benches offers a comfortable place to cool down. The barrel sits on a cedar cradle, requiring very little foundation work. The sauna benches are in two levels and run the length of the sauna. The sauna comes with a beautiful pre hung sauna door with tempered glass.
Cedar duck boards are included with your sauna kit. The tight barrel construction is weather proof, shedding both rain and snow.
